About SimpleWorks
SimpleWorks was built from a lifetime of experience running businesses, managing projects, building processes and finding practical ways to make work simpler.
Our Story
Long before SimpleWorks had a name, the ideas behind it were already being put to work.
Our owners have spent much of their careers as business owners and operators—building companies, managing projects, supporting employees and creating processes as the need arose.
We remember when many of those processes started with a pen, a piece of paper and a filing cabinet.
As businesses grew and technology changed, paper became spreadsheets. Spreadsheets became software. Individual programs became connected systems. The tools became more capable, but the challenge remained the same:
How do you make all of it work together without making the business harder to run?
Over the years, processes were created because a project needed them. Systems were built because a company had outgrown the old way. Technology was adopted because there was a better way to manage information. Resources were found because the work couldn't stop while someone searched for them.
SimpleWorks grew from those experiences.
Not from a theory about how businesses should operate, but from years of figuring out what actually works when people have a business to run and a project to deliver.
People
We Know the Work Behind the Work
Running a company involves far more than delivering the product or completing the project.
Someone has to manage the contracts.
Someone has to track the information.
Someone has to coordinate the people.
Someone has to build the processes.
Someone has to keep the systems current.
Someone has to find the resources.
And when the work takes people away from home, someone should be thinking about the people behind the job, too.
Our owners know what it is like to live out of a suitcase, work away from family and spend long days focused on getting the job done.
That experience shaped an important part of SimpleWorks:
Treat people like they matter.
A workforce is more than labor assigned to a project. Behind every employee is a life, a family and a reason they are doing the work.
Good housing matters.
Good organization matters.
Knowing where to go and what to expect matters.
Having the tools and resources to do the job matters.
And having systems working behind the scenes so people can focus on their actual work matters.
Technology
Technology Should Make Work Simpler
We have watched business operations evolve from paper-based processes to increasingly sophisticated software and technology.
We believe in that progress.
But adding another piece of software doesn't automatically make a business simpler.
Technology works when it supports a good process, gives people the information they need and reduces unnecessary work.
That's why SimpleWorks doesn't begin with a particular software product.
We begin with the operation.
We understand the need, determine what should happen, and then use the appropriate processes, systems and technology to support it.
Sometimes the answer is simple.
Sometimes it requires building an entire operating structure.
Either way, the objective is the same:
Make the technology work for the business—not the business work for the technology.
Method
Assess. Build. Manage.
Years of operating businesses taught us something else:
A recommendation isn't very valuable if nobody has the time or resources to put it into practice.
That's why SimpleWorks can go beyond consulting.
Assess
Understand the need and how the work is currently being done.
Build
Create and implement the process, system, service or solution.
Manage
Stay involved and keep it operating when ongoing support makes sense.
We don't have to hand over a binder, software system or new process and walk away.
SimpleWorks can stay with the solution.
Foundation
People. Projects. Process.
These ideas ultimately became the foundation of SimpleWorks.
People
Support the people doing the work.
Projects
Provide the leadership and resources that keep work moving.
Process
Create the systems behind the business that make everything easier to manage.
Those needs may look different from one client to another, but they are often connected.
SimpleWorks was created to connect them.
Why SimpleWorks
The name is intentional.
We know complex businesses will still be complex.
Major projects will still be demanding.
There will still be schedules, budgets, contracts, decisions, people and unexpected problems.
Our job isn't to pretend those things are easy.
Our job is to make the work around them simpler.
To provide the support.
To build the system.
To manage the details.
To take care of the people.
And to give our clients more time to focus on the work, their businesses and the lives they've built outside of them.
Because work matters.
But so does everything beyond it.
There is a wonderful world outside of work.
We believe good business systems and dependable support should give people more opportunity to experience it.
That's why we're here.
SimpleWorks.
Making Business Simple.
Tell us what you need.
Start with the need. SimpleWorks can help determine the right solution.
